Biochemistry is the study of the fundamental processes of life at the cellular level that deals with fascinating subjects such as metabolism, molecular biology, neuroscience, pharmacology and sleep. As a Biochemistry degree student, you will gain extensive practical skills in our internationally renowned, research-oriented environment so that you are prepared to work at the forefront of developments in this exciting field. This programme will give you a very sound and broad background in biochemistry. You will have opportunities to familiarise yourself with state-of-the-art biochemical methodology and sample some of its most intriguing applications.
A-level Overall: BBB, Required subjects: Biology or Chemistry at grade B and a second science or Mathematics. Applicants taking the Science Practical Endorsement are required to pass. IELTS of 6.5 overall with 6.0 in each band. International Baccalaureate Overall: 32, Required subjects: HL5/SL6 in Biology or Chemistry and a second science or Mathematics. Minimum percentage required (12 standard or HSC) 70%.
