Curriculum Structure
Year 1: Foundations in Biomedicine
In your first year, you’ll build a strong base in biomedical science through modules like Biomedical Science in Practice, Infection and Immunity, and Protein Biochemistry. You’ll also get hands-on experience in laboratories, learning essential techniques and how to apply theory in practice.
Year 2: Diving Deeper
The second year expands your understanding with core modules such as Medical Microbiology and Genetics. You’ll also have optional modules like Cellular Pathology, DNA Technology, Clinical Biochemistry, and Practical Physiology, giving you the chance to focus on areas that interest you most.
Year 3: Advanced Study and Independent Research
This year is all about specialization. Modules like Clinical Immunology, Cancer, Medical Genetics, and Pathobiology give you a deeper insight into biomedical science. You’ll also undertake an independent research project, developing critical thinking and practical problem-solving skills.
