Zoology with Marine Zoology provides students with a thorough grounding in general zoology, based on an exploration of the diversity of animal form and function, and an examination of their behaviour, evolution, ecology, development and morphology. In addition, students acquire a specialised knowledge of the conservation, physiology and behaviour of marine invertebrates, through a series of modules available across the college of Natural Sciences. Our aim is to provide you with sound zoological training and equip you with skills necessary for a career in the field of zoology and marine science. The provision of a diversity of laboratory and field zoology experience, especially in relation to marine organisms and their habitats, is an important component of the course, as is the acquisition of transferable skills (data analysis, group work, presentational and writing skills, IT skills). The School is unusual in boasting its own Zoology Museum with a large collection of vertebrate and invertebrate specimens and an extensive marine aquarium. Our location on the northern coast of the Snowdonia National Park and close proximity to miles of sandy beaches, makes it an ideal place to study Zoology with Marine Zoology.
