Program Overview

During your initial year, you will be introduced to the fundamental principles of criminology, allowing you to delve into key debates and issues within the field. You will explore how society addresses crime and criminals, while also examining broader concepts related to human rights, diversity, and the duty of care.

Furthermore, the first year of study will provide you with a foundation in scientific and statistical skills essential for conducting research in criminology.

Moving into the second year, you will explore more specialized subjects to deepen your understanding of various aspects. These may include criminal law, mental health and forensic psychology, cybercrime and security, as well as classic case studies in criminology.

Moreover, you will enhance your proficiency in statistical data management and develop expertise in designing and implementing research experiments.

In your final year, you will have the opportunity to apply the knowledge you have acquired and showcase your research skills through a final year project on a topic of your choice. Additionally, you will investigate the relationship between young people and crime, as well as explore the realm of international law in a broader context.

Throughout the course, you will progressively build upon your understanding of criminology, while honing your research abilities and engaging with topics that align with your interests and career aspirations.
