Program Overview

The BSc (Hons) Economics at Birmingham City University is a practically oriented, globally relevant economics degree that prepares students to become critical, analytical, and industry-ready professionals.

This course is designed to:

Independent Research & Dissertation
In your final year, you’ll complete a dissertation that allows for in-depth analysis of real-world economic policy issues using authentic datasets. This capstone project helps build both analytical depth and research independence.

You’ll gain hands-on experience with Python, SPSS, and EViews—software widely used in data analytics, econometrics, and policy modelling. These skills directly align with roles in research, government, and finance.
