Program Overview

The BSc Economics at the University of Bristol combines rigorous training in mathematics, statistics and econometrics with practical application of economic models to real‐world issues. Curriculum Structure

 

 

Year 1: In your first year you’ll lay the groundwork by studying core units such as Mathematics for Economics, Statistical Methods, Economic Data and Economics (ECON10001) — building your quantitative and analytical toolkit. 

Year 2: In the second year you’ll extend your knowledge through advanced modules in microeconomics and macroeconomics, and you’ll start choosing optional units like Globalisation and Development or Introduction to Accounting that allow you to tailor your studies. 

Year 3: During the final year you’ll focus on your interests via optional modules (e.g., Behavioural Economics, Environmental Economics, Data Science, International Economics) and complete an applied economics dissertation or research project to consolidate your learning.
