Curriculum structure

Year 1: You’ll take foundational units such as Mathematics for Economists, Introduction to Statistics, Economics I and Economics II. Year 2: The second year includes compulsory modules like Microeconomics II, Macroeconomics II and Econometrics. Alongside these you’ll pick optional units aligned with your interests, allowing you to explore topics such as behavioural economics, applied economics or global development.
Year 3: The ‘With Year Abroad’ (WYA) pathway is a four-year version of your degree, in which your third year is spent studying at one of its 60 partner universities (spanning 26 countries), before returning to university for your fourth and final year. There is also the opportunity to combine study and work abroad, doing a semester of study at one of their partner universities, followed by a semester of work in a placement that you secure anywhere in the world.
Final Year 4: You’ll dive into specialist modules from a flexible list, tailoring your study to your ambitions (for example game theory, health economics, international finance) and often undertake an independent project or dissertation to demonstrate your analytical mastery and preparation for employment or postgraduate study.

Additional Information & Requirements

A-Level: A*AA -AAA, The required subjects are not available.

For the International Baccalaureate: For A*AA, IB 38 or 766 in 3 Higher Levels & AAA: IB 36 or 666 in 3 Higher Levels

IELTS: 6.5 overall and no less than 5.5 in any section & TOEFL:90 with minimum scores of 20 in speaking and 18 for writing, listening and reading.

GCSE: Grade C or 4 in GCSE English Language Grade A or 7 in GCSE Mathematics (or GCE A-Level/AS Mathematics, Pure Mathematics or Further Mathematics or Core Mathematics).

CBSE: For ICSE/CBSE Board Standard XII, we usually require an aggregate score of at least 85%.

American Curriculum: If you are taking A levels or the International Baccalaureate Diploma, you will be eligible for direct entry if you meet your chosen programme’s entry requirements.
