Economics is central to our daily lives, influencing everything from the global economy to local price fluctuations. Whether it's understanding the Euro crisis or tracking changes in the price of everyday items like milk, economics drives our decisions and behavior. This course provides insights into the fundamental concepts of economics and its real-world applications, focusing on global and local economic trends. The Economics Department is ranked 19th in the UK.

The first year of the economics course introduces key foundational topics that support advanced studies in subsequent years. The second and third years deepen this knowledge with a wide range of modules designed to broaden your understanding of economics and allow you to tailor your studies to your interests and career goals.

Teaching Location

The course is based in the Department of Economics and Related Studies, located on Campus West. The campus provides a student-friendly setting within easy reach of the city center, with everything accessible by walking or cycling, or via a frequent bus service.

Assessment and Feedback

Assessment methods vary by module but generally include a combination of exams, essays, and project work. Feedback will be provided through written comments, in-class discussions, model answers, one-on-one meetings, or online responses.
