Physical Geography focuses on the understanding, assessment and modelling of physical interactions and processes that govern the environment and landscape. You will examine modern environmental phenomena, the long-term evolution of the landscape and human impact, particularly in terms of past and future climate change. You will also gain an understanding of the dynamic nature of the Earth through historical and process-based approaches. Fieldwork is an important part of this degree and you will be able to take full advantage of day-long and residential national and overseas field trips. You can also take advantage of Manchester s enviable location within only two hours travel from five National Parks. In addition, you can opt to undertake vocational experience, or you may study the course over 4 years by including a sandwich placement or a year studying overseas.
