This degree is for students interested in culture and society -- how people live, understand, and interact within particular environments -- and how international development is affected by different cultures on the one hand and affects social transformation on the other. Students taking the degree will explore all aspects of cultural diversity (different economies; types of social organisation; kinship, marriage and descent patterns; ritual and belief systems) alongside the local impacts of the different aspects of international development (economic growth, social and cultural transformation).
