You’ll gain a strong foundation in political ideas, world history, and global issues, setting you up for careers in diplomacy, international organizations, or further study.


Curriculum Structure

Foundation Year (Year 0)

The foundation year helps you build the skills and knowledge you need for success at university. You’ll study Academic Skills for Social Sciences to sharpen your research and writing, get introduced to Politics and International Relations, and explore Global Issues that affect people worldwide.

Year 1

In your first year, you’ll dive deeper into politics and international relations. Political Theory helps you understand different ideologies, International Relations introduces key concepts and frameworks, and Comparative Politics lets you examine how different governments work.

Year 2

Year two focuses on applying what you’ve learned to more specialized areas. You’ll explore International Political Economy, study Global Governance and international institutions, and develop research skills with Research Methods.

Year 3

In your final year, you’ll tackle advanced topics and complete your own research. Modules like Security Studies and Human Rights and International Law give you insights into pressing global challenges, while your Dissertation lets you explore a topic that truly interests you.
