Curriculum Structure

Year 1: Foundations of Global Politics

In your first year, you’ll explore the basics of international relations through modules like Introduction to International Relations, International Political Economy, and Global Security. This gives you a solid grounding in how global politics and economies function, and how conflicts and cooperation shape our world.

Year 2: Deepening Knowledge and Specialisation

The second year takes you deeper, with courses such as International Organizations, Foreign Policy Analysis, and International Law. You’ll analyse the roles of global institutions, explore diplomatic strategies, and understand the legal frameworks that govern international affairs.

Year 3: Placement Year

Year three is all about getting hands-on experience. You’ll spend 9–12 months in a placement with a government agency, NGO, or international organisation, applying what you’ve learned and building skills that employers really value.

Year 4: Advanced Topics and Dissertation

In your final year, you’ll tackle advanced topics like Global Governance, Conflict Resolution, and Human Rights. You’ll also complete a dissertation, giving you the chance to research a topic you’re passionate about and showcase your expertise.
