BSc in Psychology

3 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

University of East Anglia

Program Overview

Psychology is the scientific study of human behaviour and mental processes. At the University of East Anglia (UEA), you’ll explore how biological, cultural, genetic, and environmental factors influence thoughts, emotions, and actions. Through critical engagement with contemporary theories and research, you’ll develop your analytical skills and begin forming your own evidence-based ideas.

UEA’s School of Psychology offers a research-led curriculum taught through a blend of small group sessions and larger lectures. Ranked 14th in the UK for research quality in Psychology, Psychiatry and Neuroscience (REF 2021, Times Higher Education), the School ensures high-quality academic support. Each student is assigned a dedicated academic advisor and has access to university-wide support services for academic and personal development.

The course crosses disciplinary boundaries, applying behavioural and social science theories to real-world contexts. You’ll explore both qualitative and quantitative research methods and choose from a wide range of optional modules. If your interests evolve, you can switch between Psychology pathways after your first year.

In your final year, you’ll undertake an independent research project and access cutting-edge lab facilities including a virtual reality suite, eye-tracking, and motion-tracking technologies. This hands-on experience solidifies your learning and research skills.

You’ll graduate with a deep understanding of human psychology and a strong set of transferable skills, preparing you for diverse careers in HR, teaching, marketing, healthcare, criminal justice, or further study. The programme is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), meeting the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC), a key step toward becoming a professional psychologist.
