Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and DanceThis International Foundation programme provides an intensive year of dance study.On this programme you will develop your technical and creative skills by studying contemporary dance, classical ballet, body awareness, dance creation and contextual studies.Projects led by professional artists in a range of genres and styles enable you to devise, rehearse and perform your work.Students on the International Foundation Year will undertake intensive English language tuition, both in general English language and applying this in dance contexts, using dance-specific terminology. Your English language studies will include developing language skills to enable you to analyse and talk about dance and dance performance you have seen.You will have an opportunity to show some of the work you have created during the year in an end of year performance platform.
Normally, applicants to the International Foundation Year will have the following dance and academic profile:Practical dance experience of one dance form is expected (e.g. contemporary dance, classical ballet, urban dance), assessed at audition: candidates will be expected to demonstrate technical expertise and potential, and imaginative responses to creative tasks set; commitment and potential to study dance at a professional level; and enthusiasm for the physical demands of intensive dance training.PLUS, An A-level or AS-level, or equivalent qualifications. Relevant prior experience will be considered. IELTS 4.5 min in all areas, Auditions.
