While enrolled in the BA (Hons) Fine Art with Textiles program, you will receive support to delve into the essence of textiles as a medium, in addition to traditional fine art practices. Access to well-equipped workshops will enable you to create high-quality artwork and specialize in the development of textile-based pieces.

This program encompasses a diverse range of skills and techniques that will help you develop a professional approach to various artistic processes. Through workshops, you will be introduced to weaving, stitching, embroidery, felt-making, dyeing, knitting, and receive demonstrations on techniques such as pattern cutting.

You will have the opportunity to explore the contemporary trend of viewing textiles as a medium that can be comprehended in terms of space and three-dimensionality. The curriculum will also incorporate elements of other 2D and 3D practices, including surface, color, collage, flat surfaces, as well as sculptural approaches such as structural textiles, 3D hangings, and mixed media. The study of textiles in this program embraces the exploration of fine art and interacts with disciplines such as sculpture, painting, printmaking, and installation work.
