The Bachelor of Arts in art history provides the framework for the critical study of a wide range of cultures in different periods of human history. Students examine works of art in relation to the circumstances surrounding their creation. Offered by the Department of the History of Art in the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences. Additional courses of study include:Art history/religious studies combining courses in art history with those of related religious content and background. Students may choose between the Asian concentration, the student-designed comparative concentration, and the Western concentration. Offered in tandem with the Department of Religious StudiesArt history/administrative studies providing students with the background for a career in museums by combining training in management and the history of art. Graduates work in a variety of art-related areas, including museums, galleries, and auction houses. Grads have also gone on to graduate school in art history and enrolled in law school.
