BA Art History and Arts Management

4 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

University of San Francisco

Program Overview

The University of San Francisco offers an undergraduate art history/arts management major, which, unlike traditional programs, gives students the theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and hands-on experience they need to become successful professionals in the art world. All majors also learn how to engage their arts management skills to address compelling civic concerns. In addition to courses in art history, museum studies, design, and professional practice, the program offers two required internships: students may intern at a fine arts museum, a commercial gallery, or a non-profit arts organization. Students learn real-world arts management skills such as resume writing, interviewing, curating, exhibition design, preservation, educational program development and delivery, and working with artists, patrons, clients, and communities.
