Program Overview

The DCF major prepares students for the professional world of cinema, television, news and web series production. The program combines the study of aesthetic filmmaking, technical training, and hands-on production in all aspects of digital filmmaking, providing students with start-to-finish knowledge of the process of making fiction and non-fiction films. Successful graduates will leave with hands-on skills in the contemporary tools used throughout the industry. They will also have created multiple short film projects which will form the basis of a professional reel. Elective classes focus on major directors, themes like romantic comedy and women in film, scriptwriting, casting, and advanced technical skills like lighting, cameras, and editing.
