The performance emphasis provides you more opportunities to practice, study and perform music at the highest level to ready you for a career in music. You’ll benefit from lessons taught by professional faculty and extensive ensemble work in our Wind Symphony, Women’s Chorus or Concert Choir.
You’ll also study music theory, musicianship and music history, as you develop a keener critical understanding of a variety of musical genres and styles. Finally, you’ll work with the faculty to develop two full solo recitals—typically in your junior and senior years.

Profile Assessment: Creative-field applicants may be assessed through academic preparation, creative ability, visual thinking and, where required, a portfolio. The portfolio may include finished work as well as sketches, experimentation, process development and written explanations. Architecture may value Mathematics, Physics, drawing and spatial thinking, while Art, Design and Fashion programs may place greater emphasis on originality, technical development and the creative process.Advanced Placement(AP) Guidance: AP availability depends on the student's school.
