Program Overview

The ECU School of Music's program in Musicology encompasses required undergraduate courses in Music History and Literature and World Music, and upper-division/graduate electives exploring the history of specific musical eras, as well as topics in ethnomusicology. This course of study is designed to give our students a basic orientation to the repertoires and styles of music in various societies, and to the place of music in human history and culture. The bachelor of music in music degree has three concentrations - music therapy, music performance, and music theory-composition.
