Program Overview

This concentration enables you to delve deeper into the topics of Instrumentation & Arranging and Composition. Every Spring semester we offer the Composers' Workshop Ensemble where students create, prepare and perform new works in a celebration of student music on campus. Music Theorists will engage in a significant research-oriented capstone, while Composers will culminate in a recital of their own works. Most graduates in this concentration pursue further graduate study in preparation for academic careers, work as freelance composers, or move into industry with music publishers.
