Program Overview

This concentration is a cross-campus collaboration that provides learning opportunities such as controlled studio recording and concert hall recording; live sound work on full scale productions at the Freed Center; work with ONU3-TV on campus; and live concerts and events in the BearCave. Our program is distinctive in providing a rigorous musicianship core, allowing you to develop the aural skills needed to work effectively with the recording equipment. With this concentration, you can study abroad for a semester at the University of Salford in Manchester, England, which has the most advanced, state-of-the-art recording studios in Europe. While there, you'll be exposed to projects at MediaCity UK, where the BBC Philharmonic records soundtrack and where all the BBC studios are located
