The Bachelor of Music degree with a major in Music Education (Instrumental or Vocal) provides students with the knowledge, skills, and musicianship to become vital music educators. Building on a core curriculum that includes music theory, history, and literature, as well as extensive ensemble performance and applied study, Music Education majors complete education courses that fulfill Minnesota Licensure requirements (K-12).
Transcripts from the previously attended schools, Original or certified copies of ALL secondary (high school), SAT and ACT test scores, English language profeciency (TOEFL: Minimum iBT score of 80, IELTS: Minimum Academic Test score of 6.5) US universities use a holistic admissions review. Beyond grades and standardized test scores, they weigh the strength of your overall profile to understand who you are as a student and a person.
Profile Assessment: Creative-field applicants may be assessed through academic preparation, creative ability, visual thinking and, where required, a portfolio. The portfolio may include finished work as well as sketches, experimentation, process development and written explanations. Architecture may value Mathematics, Physics, drawing and spatial thinking, while Art, Design and Fashion programs may place greater emphasis on originality, technical development and the creative process.Advanced Placement(AP) Guidance: AP availability depends on the student's school.
