Jacksonville State UniversityThe Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with a Performance concentration includes courses in acting, speech, and movement along with electives in classes such as directing, puppetry, and dance. This training in a variety of methods is combined with the opportunity to gain stage experience in our mainstage productions, student-directed one-acts, screen experience in department and student films, applied theatre training, and other experiences such as our staged readings during the academic year.

Profile Assessment: Creative-field applicants may be assessed through academic preparation, creative ability, visual thinking and, where required, a portfolio. The portfolio may include finished work as well as sketches, experimentation, process development and written explanations. Architecture may value Mathematics, Physics, drawing and spatial thinking, while Art, Design and Fashion programs may place greater emphasis on originality, technical development and the creative process.Advanced Placement(AP) Guidance: AP availability depends on the student's school.
