The program in Studio Art offers diverse approaches in painting, sculpture, printmaking, drawing, and new media through the fundamental process of direct experience. Our established faculty fosters students abilities to make informed judgments and push themselves beyond expectations. Complemented by Brandeis intellectual experience within the liberal arts context, students are well poised to continue to pursue studio art as a career or enter other professional fields.An integral part of studying studio art at Brandeis is the learning that is done outside the classroom. Students have the chance to draw artistic inspiration and scholarly knowledge from the renowned Rose Art Museum, located on Brandeis campus just steps from the studio art building. In addition, student benefit from a distinguished visiting artist program and trips to local museums as well as institutions beyond Boston in New York and Washington D.C.
