Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business offers a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) in Management Information Systems, designed to develop professionals who can integrate business strategies with technology solutions. This interdisciplinary program equips students with analytical, technical, and managerial skills to implement and manage information systems that address real-world business challenges.
Students complete 180 - 186 quarter credits, with options for a Three Co-op (5 years), One Co-op (4 years), or No Co-op (4 years) pathway. The curriculum combines a comprehensive business foundation with specialized MIS courses in systems analysis, databases, programming, and IT strategy.
Course overview:
Years 1 & 2: General education and business core courses such as accounting, economics, business analytics, and management information systems. Students also complete courses in civic engagement, math, and the humanities.
Years 3 & 4/5: Core MIS courses (Systems Analysis and Design, Database Design and Implementation) followed by electives like Information Systems Project Management, Technology Management, Information Security, and Enterprise Cloud Systems. Students also choose a Business Impact elective outside the major.
Writing-intensive requirement: Three advanced writing courses, including two within the MIS major.
Co-op Program:
Students gain up to 18 months of full-time, paid work experience in roles related to IT consulting, systems analysis, database management, and cybersecurity.
Internships & Projects:
Non-co-op students are encouraged to undertake industry projects or part-time internships.

Active participation in MIS-related student organizations, case competitions, and tech networking events fosters collaboration and practical experience.
