Depending on their pathway, they explore areas such as global management and finance, marketing strategy and consumer behavior, information technology management, sports business, or entrepreneurship, applying business concepts to practical scenarios.

Year 4: Students bring their learning together through advanced business study and a senior capstone experience that combines business-plan research with a practicum. Bisk College of Business. Florida Tech is also institutionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). IACBE program accreditation provides an external quality-assurance framework for business education; it is distinct from professional licensure.

The university also reports that 428 internships were reported in 2024–2025, with 87% paid and 35% earning academic credit; these figures are university-wide, not specific to Business Administration graduates.

Experiential Learning (Research, Projects, Internships etc.)

At Florida Tech, business students learn by applying classroom concepts to real organizational challenges. The B.S. program features a Major Field Practicum, where students are matched with a host organization and gain experience observing business operations, solving problems, and understanding managerial decisions. Through presentations, roundtable discussions, weekly reports, and work at the host organization, students develop professional communication, teamwork, and practical business skills. Students can also participate in internships, business competitions, entrepreneurship initiatives, and collaborative projects.

Students can build practical experience through the following opportunities:

  • Major Field Practicum: Work with a host organization and apply business concepts to real workplace situations. Past practicum organizations include Northrop Grumman, Clear Channel Outdoor, NASA, and NASA Kennedy Space Center.

  • Internships: Business students have completed internships with organizations including Space Coast Credit Union, the CIA, Merrill, and State Farm.

  • Business competitions: Participate in activities such as the Honda CR-Z Social Marketing Challenge, Cadillac Case Competition, Florida National Guard Promotion Campaign, Management Case Competition, and Chevrolet Ad Campaign.

Progression & Future Opportunities

The B.S. in Business Administration prepares students for opportunities across private companies, government, nonprofit organizations, commerce, industry, and sports-related businesses. Graduates develop a foundation in business operations, finance, marketing, management, and strategic decision-making, while their chosen concentration can help them build expertise in a particular area. Career possibilities include Business Operations Specialist, Budget Analyst, Market Research Analyst, and Logistics Specialist.

Students can prepare for their professional future through the following opportunities:

  • Career Services: Florida Tech provides career planning, résumé reviews, job-search assistance, mock interviews, and access to its Panther Careers platform for employment and internship opportunities.

  • Internship outcomes: Florida Tech reported 428 internships in 2024–2025; 87% were paid and 35% earned academic credit. These are university-wide figures, not Business Administration-specific outcomes.

  • Industry exposure: Practicum hosts and internship organizations have included Northrop Grumman, NASA, Merrill, State Farm, and Space Coast Credit Union. These are examples of past placements, not guaranteed employment partners for every student.

  • Professional accreditation: The program’s IACBE accreditation provides external recognition of the business education framework and its quality-assurance process.

  • Graduation outcomes: Florida Tech publishes student achievement information for its business programs. Its 2024–2025 public disclosure lists a 29% graduation-rate result for the B.S. Business Administration program under the reported measure; this should be read in the context of the university’s published cohort and reporting methodology, rather than as an employment rate.

  • Career directions: Graduates may explore business operations, purchasing, budgeting, financial services, marketing research, logistics, and management-related roles. Some positions, such as accountant or auditor, may require additional education or credentials.

Further Academic Progression: After completing the B.S., students may pursue graduate study such as Florida Tech’s Master of Business Administration (MBA), M.S. in Accounting and Financial Forensics, or Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), subject to each program’s admission requirements.
