Program Overview

Michigan Technological University’s Management BS prepares students to become confident, technology-savvy problem-solvers who can lead people, manage projects, make strategic decisions, and respond to the needs of technology-driven organizations. Year 1: Students begin by building a strong business foundation alongside mathematics, communication, and general education. Key courses include BUS1100 – Intro to Business, BUS2200 – Business Law, ACC2000 – Accounting Principles I, MA2720 – Statistical Methods, EC2001 – Principles of Economics, and MKT3000 – Principles of Marketing, giving students an understanding of how organizations operate and make business decisions.

Year 3: Students develop more advanced management capabilities through subjects focused on operations, people, global business, organizational change, projects, and innovation. Coursework includes OSM3000 – Operations and Supply Chain Management, MGT4700 – Human Resource Management, MGT4100 – International Management, MGT4500 – Managing Change in Organizations, OSM4300 – Project Management, and MGT4600 – Management of Technology and Innovation.

Year 4: In the final year, students bring together the knowledge gained across the degree and apply it to higher-level strategic business decisions. MGT4000 – Strategic Management is supported by business electives and experiential education, allowing students to tailor their studies toward their professional interests before completing the 120-credit degree.
