4 Years On Campus Bachelors Program
The BA in Business Administration and Management at The City College of New York (CCNY) gives students a cross-functional foundation in business, economics, entrepreneurship, communication, and quantitative methods while allowing them to explore different areas of management and administration. Curriculum Structure
First Year:
Students begin with the primary courses that establish the fundamentals of business and economics, including ECO 10150: Principles of Management, ECO 10250: Principles of Microeconomics, and ECO 10350: Principles of Macroeconomics. They also take MATH 20100 or 20500: Calculus I or Elements of Calculus, building the quantitative foundation needed for later business and economics study.
Second Year:
The second stage develops students' analytical and financial understanding through the major core, including ECO 20150: Principles of Statistics, ECO 20250: Microeconomic Theory I, ECO 20350: Macroeconomics I, and ECO 20450: Principles of Accounting I. Together, these courses strengthen students' ability to interpret data, understand economic behavior, and apply accounting and economic concepts to business decisions.
Third Year:
Students begin tailoring the degree toward their interests through four Field Courses and additional Major Electives. Available subjects include Consumer Behavior, Marketing, International Environment of Business, Business Law I, Corporate Finance, Developing Management Skills, Human Resource Management, Operations and Production, Organizational Behavior, and Leadership, allowing students to develop a more focused management profile.
Fourth Year:
The final stage emphasizes advanced application through a field course that serves as a capstone, alongside the remaining major elective requirements. Capstone choices include ECO 41150: Strategic Management, ECO 41350: Business and Society, and ECO 41450: Information and Technology Management, while other advanced options include ECO 41250: Entrepreneurship, ECO 41250: Entrepreneurship, and ECO 32350: Accounting II.
