Economics is poised at the intersection between social science and business, and has great relevance for a wide range of public policy issues. The business economics program at the UC Carl H. Lindner College of Business combines the study of both economics and business, providing a strong theoretical and professional combination. Traditional economics courses prepare students to collect and analyze data, monitor economic trends and develop forecasts essential to the ability of business firms to maximize profits and provide the quantity of goods or services that consumers will demand at a certain price. The program includes general education requirements as well as basic courses in all business disciplines, economics and career exploration and development.
