Course overview:
Years 1 & 2: General education, pre-business core (accounting, economics, business presentations, statistics, business foundations)
Year 3: Business core (finance, marketing, information systems), HR core (Staffing, Compensation, HR Management), leadership and management development
Year 4: Strategic HRM, HR and global electives, senior capstone in strategic management, internships and open electives
The curriculum is aligned with the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification and emphasizes data-driven, evidence-based HR decision-making.
Internships: Credit-bearing HR internship (MGMT 493) in areas like recruitment, analytics, and employee relations
Student Organizations: Active SHRM student chapter and business clubs
Consulting Projects: Real-world HR projects, case competitions, and consulting with local employers
Strong foundation for taking the PHR certification exam
Alumni work across corporate, nonprofit, healthcare, government, and education sectors
Typical progression: HR Assistant → HR Business Partner → HR Manager → CHRO
