Columbia Engineering and Columbia Business School are pleased to offer a full-time Master of Science in Business Analytics degree, with a three-semester curriculum designed for those who want to focus on learning the modeling techniques and data science tools that help businesses use data to make better decisions. A key element of the degree program is a capstone project that provides an intense consulting engagement with clients and their real-world business problems using real data sets.
The Master of Science in Business Analytics program is STEM-certified and eligible for F-1 STEM OPT extension.

Profile Assessment: Business-related applicants are assessed on academic performance, quantitative preparation, communication, initiative and evidence of engagement with organisations or economic issues. Mathematics is particularly important for Finance, Economics, Business Analytics and other quantitative programs. Entrepreneurship, business competitions, investment or economics clubs, internships, case studies, market research and community projects may strengthen the profile.Advanced Placement(AP) Guidance: AP availability depends on the student's school. Relevant APs can strengthen an application and may earn university credit, but are not compulsory unless the university or programme explicitly requires them.Extracurricular activities: Estimated extracurricular contribution: 20–25%. Columbia considers intellectual engagement, initiative, creativity, leadership and community contribution. Activities involving research, journalism, debate, arts, service or engagement with urban and global issues may support the profile when they genuinely reflect the applicant’s interests.Essays & recommendations: Personal essays and teacher/counselor recommendations give context to your achievements and help demonstrate fit with the program.Business AnalystInvestor
