4 Years On Campus Bachelors Program
Ohio University’s Business Analytics B.B.A. combines statistical and analytical skills with practical business knowledge, helping students turn business data into insights that support decision-making. A distinctive feature of the program is that Business Analytics must be combined with another B.B.A. major, allowing students to build a personalized profile such as Business Analytics with Management Information Systems, Business Economics, or International Business.
Curriculum Structure
Year 1: Students begin with OHIO’s Copeland Core, developing their understanding of business, professional expectations and career planning through courses such as BA 1000: Introduction to the College of Business, BA 1100: Introduction to Business and Ethical Reasoning, and the College of Business Learning Community Seminar. This foundation introduces students to business disciplines and helps them begin planning their individual combination of majors and experiences.
Year 2: Students move into quantitative and analytical business study through courses such as QBA 1720: Descriptive Analytics and QBA 2720: Business Analytics, while also completing the Integrated Business Cluster. The Cluster brings together MKT 2400, BA 2500, MGT 2100 and MIS 2020, allowing students to work collaboratively across marketing, communication, management, analytics and information systems on realistic business challenges.
Year 3: Students build on their analytics foundation through advanced business coursework while completing the BBA Required Internship, giving them the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a professional environment. Courses such as MGT 3200: Operations Management and MGT 3730: Entrepreneurial Business Consulting further develop operational, consulting, analytical, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
Year 4: Students complete their advanced major and co-major requirements while strengthening their ability to apply analytics to strategic business decisions. The BBA curriculum includes MGT 4800J: Business Strategy, while Business Analytics students can build further analytical depth through courses such as QBA 3720: Predictive Analytics and QBA 4720: Prescriptive Analytics, depending on their academic plan and course selection.
