Management, BSBA

4 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

University of San Francisco

Program Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Management at the University of San Francisco prepares students to become thoughtful, adaptable leaders who can guide teams, manage organisational challenges, and make responsible business decisions. Combining management theory with practical business applications, the program explores organisational behaviour, leadership, human resources, and strategic decision-making, with opportunities to specialise in Event Management or Human Resources.

Curriculum Structure

The BSBA includes university core requirements, business foundation courses, and management major requirements. The following is a general four-year learning progression based on USF’s published course requirements; the university does not prescribe one fixed sequence for every student.

Year 1: Students establish their foundation in business, quantitative reasoning, and communication through Launch into Business (BUS 100), Introductory Economics (ECON 110), and Business Statistics (MATH 106) or Elementary Statistics (MATH 101). They also begin the university's Core Curriculum, developing the academic and analytical skills needed for further business study.

Year 2: Students develop a broader understanding of business operations through Principles of Financial Accounting (BUS 201), Principles of Managerial Accounting (BUS 202), and Foundations of Analytics (BUS 204). Marketing Principles (BUS 302), Foundations of Organizational Behavior (BUS 304), and Systems in Organizations (BUS 308) introduce how people, information, and business functions work together.

Year 3: Students move into management-focused learning through Leadership Live (BMGT 441), Human Resource Management (BMGT 471), and Unlocking Human Potential (BMGT 472), depending on their chosen concentration. These courses help students understand leadership, employee development, organisational effectiveness, and the responsibilities involved in managing diverse teams.

Year 4: Students consolidate their management knowledge through Management Capstone (BMGT 442), applying leadership and management concepts to more advanced organisational challenges. Those following the Human Resources concentration can further develop their expertise through specialised HR coursework, while students in Event Management follow the corresponding concentration requirements.
