The Jack C. Massey College of Business offers course instruction in every aspect of financial management, including managing investments, corporate projects, bank balance sheets, real estate development, insurance products and international financial instruments. Our finance faculty incorporate insights gained from their professional experience in financial planning, retail brokerage, investment consulting and fee-based asset management into the classroom. You will benefit from real-life business experience and practical application, as well as theoretical immersion.
Belmont finance majors have access to the Massey Center for Financial Information – the Trading Lab – the first educational financial trading classroom in the state of Tennessee. Here, students collectively manage $700k of real equities and fixed income. Using the same state-of-the-art equipment employed in top brokerage firms, students gain the hands-on experience needed to manage investment funds.

Profile Assessment: Business-related applicants are assessed on academic performance, quantitative preparation, communication, initiative and evidence of engagement with organisations or economic issues. Mathematics is particularly important for Finance, Economics, Business Analytics and other quantitative programs. Entrepreneurship, business competitions, investment or economics clubs, internships, case studies, market research and community projects may strengthen the profile.Advanced Placement(AP) Guidance: AP availability depends on the student's school. Relevant APs can strengthen an application and may earn university credit, but are not compulsory unless the university or programme explicitly requires them.Essays & recommendations: Personal essays and teacher/counselor recommendations give context to your achievements and help demonstrate fit with the program.Financial Analyst
