Program Overview

The Department of Economics and Business offers four distinct majors: accounting, business administration, economics and finance. Students majoring in business administration may also elect to complete a concentration in international business, management, or marketing. Students may choose only one concentration. Situated just north of Boston---one of the world's biotechnology and healthcare epicenters, and a hub for many of the nation's largest asset management firms---Gordon students have opportunities for critical hands-on learning and internships. In the Economics and Business Department at Gordon, you will benefit from a strong combination of technical business training and Christian liberal arts education. Our highly experienced faculty will prepare you for excellence and mission in the marketplace as you cultivate integrity and wise stewardship.

Additional Information & Requirements

Students must continuously maintain a 2.0 GPA within the major.The finance major utilizes foundational and elective courses from both accounting and economics to develop the tools and understandings essential to competent financial theory and practice. This knowledge base is extended and specialized to the finance discipline through the study of international capital markets and financial institutions, financial planning and control, capital budgeting and development of capital resources. The two elective courses allow students to emphasize either corporate finance or financial markets/institutions.
