Rutgers Business School-Newark offers two tracks students can complete as a finance major: Financial Planning and Financial Management. Financial Planning leads to the Certified Financial Planning designation. The Financial Management track is our traditional Finance major. The requirements for each track are different although there is some overlap. Please note that not every course offered by the Finance and Economics Department will satisfy the requirements for both tracks. Overall, the finance sector is comprised of establishments primarily engaged in financial transactions, which involve the creation, liquidation, or change in ownership of financial assets. Almost every firm, government agency, and other type of organization employs one or more financial managers.
