International Business, B.S.B.A.

4 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

University of North Carolina Charlotte

Program Overview

The International Business, B.S.B.A. at UNC Charlotte prepares students to understand how businesses operate across national borders, combining core business knowledge with global perspectives on finance, management, marketing, economics, culture and regulation. It is well suited to students interested in global companies, international trade, cross-border management or careers that involve working across different countries and cultures.

Curriculum Structure

Year 1: Students typically begin by building their business and quantitative foundation through courses such as ECON 2101 Principles of Economics - Micro, ECON 2102 Principles of Economics - Macro, and mathematics and statistics requirements. These courses help students understand economic forces, markets and quantitative concepts that support later international business study.

Year 2: Students progress into the Belk College of Business core, developing knowledge across areas such as MGMT 3140 Management and Organizational Behavior, MKTG 3110 Principles of Marketing, and FINN 3120 Financial Management. The coursework connects management, marketing and finance concepts and provides the foundation needed to examine how these functions operate in international settings.

Year 3: Students move into dedicated international business coursework, including ECON 3171 International Business Economics, FINN 3223 International Financial Management, and MKTG 3231 Global Marketing Management. They explore international economic environments, financial decision-making and marketing strategies while developing a stronger understanding of cross-border business operations.

Year 4: Students deepen their global management knowledge through advanced study such as MGMT 3275 International Business Management, alongside approved international business electives and the program's experiential requirements. A foreign-language component and study-abroad or qualifying international internship experience further connect classroom learning with international business practice.
