The Adventure Leadership emphasis within the Recreation major at Asbury is uniquely designed to allow students to remain fully immersed in the Asbury community while still receiving technical training in a large variety of field-based pursuits.Adventure Leadership is an experiential program designed to combine the theories and practices behind experiential education. Theoretical courses in Experiential Education, Outdoor Education, Stewardship, and Leadership are merged with technical courses in Rock Climbing, Canoeing, Caving, Wilderness Travel, and Wilderness medicine.

Completed Asbury Academy application, official high school transcript showing a weighted cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or higher for high school seniors and a 3.25 or higher for high school juniors, Official examination scores from the ACT or SAT are required for admittance to certain classes ENG 110 Exposition and Research ACT English 22 / SAT Critical Reading 510, ENG 151 Advanced Exposition and Research ACT English 27 / SAT Critical Reading 660, MAT 120 Viewing Life Mathematically ACT Math 22 / SAT Math 510, Academic Recommendation letter, Written permission from a parent or guardian, English Proficiency Tests: a minimum score of 80 on the internet-based Test of English as a Foreign Language TOEFL or 550 on the paper-based TOEFL. IELTS applicants must present a minimum score of 6.5, Statement of Financial Responsibility
