Seminaries are looking for proven leaders who are intellectually nimble and can thrive in multicultural settings. Regardless of major, a broad liberal arts education is the best preparation for future leaders in religious communities. There are some basic skills and knowledge sets that students looking towards careers in religious leadership should possess. Monmouth College has a variety of courses, clubs and programs that help students gain those basic skills and knowledge and also help grow them spiritually. The following are course and cocurricular recommendations for preseminary students. Alterations can and should be made for students seeking theological training outside of a Christian context.

Common Application Official transcripts from all secondary schools and institutions of higher education attended English proficiency is required Official score report for the TOEFL Test of English as a Foreign Language we require a score of 79 IBT or 550 PBT or above. Our ETS TOEFL code is 1484. Official score report for the IELTS International English Language Testing System we require a score of 6.5 or above. An SAT examination combined score of 940 or higher. Our SAT code is 1484. An ACT composite score of 18 or higher.
