Brown University’s Sc.B. in Computer Science–Economics is an interdisciplinary program offered through The College that equips students to solve complex problems at the intersection of technology and economics. Combining rigorous training in computer science, economic theory, and quantitative analysis, the program prepares students for careers in data science, market design, policy research, and financial technology.
Students choose between a Standard Track and a Professional Track, the latter including practical work experience. The curriculum emphasizes algorithmic thinking, data-driven decision-making, and real-world economic modeling. Students also complete a capstone project or senior thesis that synthesizes skills from both disciplines.
