Bucknell offers three majors for students interested in computer science. All share a common core of computer science courses that develops a problem-solving mindset and gives students the preparation to choose their own exciting career paths.
Application. Official secondary school transcript in certified English translations, if applicable. Secondary school report with one school counselor recommendation in English. 2 years of a foreign language in the same language in secondary school. Teacher evaluation form in English. Engineering students are required to have one year of either chemistry or physics, and one year of pre-calculus. Engineering students are expected to have completed a minimum of three years of college-preparatory mathematics, but their secondary school programs should include as much work in mathematics as possible. Personal essay. Copy of biographical photo page of passport. Bank Statement. US universities use a holistic admissions review. Beyond grades and standardized test scores, they weigh the strength of your overall profile to understand who you are as a student and a person.
Profile Assessment: Applicants are generally expected to demonstrate strong quantitative ability, particularly in Mathematics. Advanced Calculus, Statistics, Computer Science or Physics can support academic preparation. Coding projects, applications, websites, hackathons, research, data-analysis projects and technology-based solutions may demonstrate technical curiosity and practical ability. Previous coding experience is helpful but is not compulsory at every university.Advanced Placement(AP) Guidance: AP availability depends on the student's school.
