The 128-credit Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Arts will give you: a rich foundation in computer animation and digital arts production, along with humanities courses to add meaning, context, and narrative skills, a diverse slate of courses and collaborations to hone your creative, design, and technical talents, one of the most well-equipped, highly advanced art media labs in the New York metropolitan area, including state-of-the art hardware, 2-D, 3-D and graphics software applications, motion capture, gaming, 3-D printing, and emerging technologies.
An original portfolio that demonstrates art, design, and conceptual thinking skills, 9 to 12 original artworks including but not limited to painting, printmaking, mixed media, sculpture, animation, storyboards, character design, mixed media, collage, and drawing (self-portraits, figure drawings, object studies, still life, and landscapes). No more than five digital artwork and computer-generated images may be included. All artwork must be submitted in PDF file format. Animation/Video work (max. 3 minutes) may be included as a link to an uploaded file on YouTube, Vimeo, or a personal website. Please include the URL in your description sheet. WES accredited transcripts of all high school work with GPA: 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale). Official Average SAT: 1100 (critical reading and math only) or ACT test scores of 25. Two letters of recommendation. Minimum score of 6.0 (IELTS), 79 (TOEFL IBT), or 53 Pearson PTE). 300-350 word essay on one of the following topics: Tell us about your career goals and why attending NYIT would further these goals. Describe the achievement of which you are most proud and why.
