Program Overview

Develop a solid foundation in music while also having the benefit of a liberal arts education. Both the Bachelor of Arts and the Bachelor of Music degrees in Music Education lead to certification to teach in public schools. The music education faculty feels strongly that offering both the B.M. and B.A. degrees allows for students to choose the path that is the best personal fit for their interests.Both music education degrees are considered professional degree programs and require an audition.While earning a Bachelor of Music degree, about two-thirds of your coursework will be in music. Students in the degree program have more time dedicated to weekly lessons as well as a recital component in their senior year.
