The Music Education Program of the School of Music offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Music Education. Our program has been providing training for music educators for over 50 years. Our students are employed in public and private institutions around the country. The goal of the undergraduate Music Education program at ECU is to prepare, develop, and advance students to a professional level through an experiential program that emphasizes attainment of concert performance and basic and new knowledge taught in the core and teaching areas. *The Bachelor of Music in Music Education leads to K-12 Music licensure in the state of North Carolina when all degree and licensure requirements are met.

Profile Assessment: Applicants are generally assessed on their preparation in English, social sciences, research and quantitative reasoning. Statistics may be particularly helpful for Psychology, Education Research, Public Policy and other research-based programs.
