MC’s B.S. in Education leads to initial Mississippi Educator licensure in Elementary Education (K-6), Secondary Education (7-12), or Specialized Subject-Area Education (K-12).
Education majors at MC complete a curriculum that emphasizes a strong, liberal arts background. The array of coursework in these programs provides critical background knowledge and skills for the education major along with specialized knowledge for the chosen content area. Classes you take will prepare you for the PRAXIS II exam and the teaching profession.
The secondary education program is for students who wish to teach specific content in a secondary school ranging from grades 7-12.
