George Mason UniversityThe Early/Primary Education PreK-3 (Licensure) Concentration prepares professionals to work in primary grade public school settings with children and families who bring diverse cultural, racial, linguistic, ability, and socio-economic backgrounds to the classroom.
Students completing this licensure program pursue careers in Public, Private, and Independent School contexts as licensed teachers at the following levels:
Application Completed High School Examinations Official Transcripts GPA 3.0 out of (4.0 scale) TOEFL iBT: 80 and 18 in each subsection OR IELTS 6.5 overall and 6.0 in each subsection SAT / ACT (optional) 2 letters of recommendation Personal Statement (250 words) CV US universities use a holistic admissions review. Beyond grades and standardized test scores, they weigh the strength of your overall profile to understand who you are as a student and a person.
Profile Assessment: Applicants are generally assessed on their preparation in English, social sciences, research and quantitative reasoning. Statistics may be particularly helpful for Psychology, Education Research, Public Policy and other research-based programs. Volunteering, tutoring, community projects, advocacy, research, student leadership and activities involving communication or social issues may strengthen the application.Essays & recommendations: Personal essays and teacher/counselor recommendations give context to your achievements and help demonstrate fit with the program.Teacher
