BS Kinesiology

The Kinesiology concentration equips students for careers in preventive and rehabilitative exercise. Students will develop real-world experience through practical courses and a formal internship. This concentration is also designed to provide a pre-professional program of study with a focus on exercise and sport science that also encompasses other fields of science (biology, chemistry, health, nutrition, etc.). After completing this program students will have the necessary academic and clinical experience to allow for future study in allied health fields. They may also be equipped to sit for the American College of Sports Medicine Health Fitness Certification: Certified Exercise Physiologist. Examples of types of internships and potential future career fields include, but are not limited to, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, sports performance, strength and conditioning, employee wellness, personal training, and exercise specialists for a variety of populations ranging from children to older adults.
