All teacher education candidates must apply for admission to the Teacher Education Program (TEP). Candidates should apply for Teacher Education Program admission in the sophomore year since TEP admission is required for 300-level methods courses. Students seeking initial secondary certification are required to complete a bachelor's degree from the following teaching preparation programs: biological science, business, chemistry, earth and space science, English, mathematics, physics or social studies. Students must maintain a minimum 2.75 GPA.

Profile Assessment: Applicants are generally assessed on their preparation in English, social sciences, research and quantitative reasoning. Statistics may be particularly helpful for Psychology, Education Research, Public Policy and other research-based programs.
