Major in Social Studies Education

This interdisciplinary major prepares students to be recommended by the education department for Minnesota licensure to teach social studies in grades 5-12. To be eligible to complete this major, students must be admitted to the Teacher Education Program. The social studies interdisciplinary teacher education program is overseen by a committee of faculty representing each of the departments involved in the major. These departments include the Offutt School of Business, education, global studies, history, political science, psychology, and sociology and social work.
